Getting started

Invite Evil6 and set up the essentials in five minutes.

Evil6 works entirely with slash commands – type / in Discord and you'll see every command you have permission to use. This guide gets you to a protected server in a few minutes.

1. Invite Evil6 #

To add a bot you need the Manage Server permission on that server. Click the button, pick your server and confirm the permissions.

Add Evil6 to Discord

The link requests exactly the permissions Evil6 needs for all features – here's what each one is for.

2. Move Evil6's role up #

Discord only lets a bot manage roles and members below its own highest role. Open Server Settings β†’ Roles and drag the Evil6 role above every role it should hand out or moderate (autoroles, level rewards, the mute role, members who may need to be kicked or banned).

Most common pitfall If Evil6 reports missing permissions although they look right, it's almost always the role order.

3. The essential steps #

  1. Set the server language

/language set – the language for public messages such as logs, level-ups and giveaways. The default is English. Replies to individual users always use their own language. More on languages

  2. Set up logging

/logging setup – a wizard with select menus. Pick existing channels or let Evil6 create new ones; it never creates channels without asking. More on logging

  3. Activate the Gulag

/gulag setup – creates the spam-bot trap at the very top of your server. Anyone who writes there is punished automatically. More on the Gulag

  4. Turn on Anti-Raid

/antiraid enable – detects join waves (default: 10 joins in 10 seconds). Fine-tune with /antiraid config. More on Anti-Raid

4. Optional: community features #

πŸ€– AutoMod

/automod-add for keywords, spam, invites or caps, then /automod enable.

πŸ‘‹ Welcome

/welcome setchannel, /welcome setmessage, /welcome enable.

🎫 Tickets

/ticket setup posts a panel with a β€œCreate ticket” button.

πŸ’Ύ Backups

/backup create and /backup auto enable for regular backups.

Set your moderators with /config set (mod role and mute role). Leveling is its own module – switch it on or off with /toggleleveling.

5. Help inside Discord #

/help lists all commands; with a category it shows just one module. In the German Discord client many commands have German names, e.g. /sprache or /protokoll – these docs use the English names. Every command is listed in the command reference.

Many settings can also be changed in the web dashboard.
