Role menus

Buttons or a dropdown where members pick their own roles – normal, unique or get-only.

Admins · Manage Roles

With role menus members give themselves roles – by button or dropdown. Perfect for notifications, games, colors or pronouns.

Create a menu #

  1. Post the menu

/rolemenu create with a channel and title – optionally with text, style, mode, color and placeholder.

  2. Add roles

/rolemenu add for each role, optionally with emoji, your own label and a description. Up to 25 roles per menu.

  3. Done

Every change updates the message right away.

Style and mode #

  • Buttons or a dropdown – the dropdown also shows each role’s description.
  • Normal – pick and remove roles freely, optionally with a maximum per member.
  • Unique – only one role from the menu; picking another one swaps it.
  • Verify – roles can only be taken, not given back (e.g. rules accepted).
  • Required role – if you like, only members with a certain role may use the menu.

Which roles work #

Roles must be below Evil6’s role and below your own highest role. Roles with dangerous permissions (Administrator, Ban, Kick, Manage Roles/Channels/Server, Manage Messages, Timeout, mention @everyone) can’t be handed out through menus.

Message deleted? /rolemenu repost posts the menu again – also to another channel. If you delete a menu with /rolemenu delete, members keep their roles. All of this also works in the dashboard.
